Played an American Deluxe a few days ago and really liked the feel of the trem with the push in bar. Can the Deluxe trem be dropped into an American Standard? Thanks to anyone that can help.

It should be a drop-in swap.

However, iI think the trem on the 2008 or later American Standard has a bigger block than the American Deluxe trem. I'm not sure if the American Deluxe got the bigger trem block as part of it's 2010 upgrades. Also, you will get a different tone from the solid saddles on the American Deluxe trem versus the bent saddles on the American Standard trem.

I agree. My 2008 Am Std had a "Copper Infused Block", which is cast (yuck), I changed it to a Callaham, much better. The Callaham block also holds the trem arm very tight and gives it much better control and stability. That may be part of the reason that you like the Deluxe trem feel. I like the newer design bent-steel saddles on the Am Std better than the block saddles on the Deluxe.

Thanks for the help. After posting here, I read about the Callaham upgrades and think that's the direction I am going to head. Especially with reviewers saying how there's no "play" in the arm.
