I own an '07 standard strat. I was wondering something: My trem doesn't pull up very far and seems to be a little loose. Is this normal?

What do you mean by "pull up"? Pull up as in, you have a floating bridge?

And what is this "loose" suppose to mean?

Didn't mean to sound sarcastic, just trying to figure out what your talking about.

I am assuming that you mean when you pull back on the trem arm the unit does not pull the strings very far and the pitch doesn't change much. If your guitar has the standard 2 point American Standard tremolo it's not supposed to go "up" very far at all. That is not what they are designed or intended to do. Now if you wanna do that 80's style "dive bombing" you really need a Floyd Rose equipped model.

By loose do you mean the arm is wobbly, the whole trem unit moves around on the pivot screws, or that it is very easy to press on and get the vibrato effect? If it's just easy to press the arm down then remove the back cover and tighten the springs (or add another). Bear in mind that this will pull the trem unit closer to the guitar body at the rear and it will go "up" even less or not at all. If the arm is wobbly screw it in farther. If the whole thing is loose the pivot screws probably need tightning, so see a qualified tech.

Hope this helped
