Special thanks to Twelvebar. I just do not have the artistic skill to come up with that fab logo. It was all him.

You've got one coming soon as I get another switch. (probably tomorrow when I get to Maplin. I don't really wanna scrap my last crap fuzzface)

Anyhow heres some more photo's. No explanation as to why I do things the way I do as I'm a rank amateur with tronics.

Home made turret board. Ask 12B about our joint hobby shop experiences.

Should really stop using plumbers flux. Look at that stand dish.

Theres currently two pedals. A very 70's hard sounding thing. And something along the lines of a warm fuzzy overdrive. I'm looking to adapt the circuit to do both. So I can add another switch and the hard sound can be used as a lead boost.
Only time will tell if I get anywhere with that. As I said, I'm a rank amateur.

+1

My older brother and his bassist made me a Germanium Fuzz for my 30th.

You can't beat a good custom made Fuzz pedal.

Even better if its built a Ninja! 8)

so this is an original, hand wired point to point pedal.
is it gonna be swift silent and deadly?

Far from silent mate.

Very very fuzzy and buzzy.

I think of all the first time I ever used a fuzz. I thought, who the hell could ever use this rubbish. It's completely out of control, far too aggressive, too raspy.
I got rid of it quite quickly. I think I had it for half a hour. It was a old Coloursound thing.

Well for about the last ten years I've been missing them elements in my effects. I constantly moan and whinge about how theres no extraordinary sounding effects. Their all predictable, generic, styled on some multimillion selling thing that you've heard a thousand times before. It doesn't matter what end of the market you go, though you tend to get a bit better with oddball 80's cheapo far eastern effects that are in a state of breaking down.

So I built a fuzz based on the sound of old Coloursound to the best of my memory. Mucked about with the circuit a bit because I know nothing of electronics. Made it as broken up fuzzy and raw as possible. Then set about the input of the circuit to allow the thing to run a wah infront of it but not completely fail like a fuzzface does in that instance.

It's nearly there. With a bit of experimenting or education, it'll be right.

One thing. A happy accident with my first attempt caused me to build a much smoother sounding fuzz. More like a really saturated overdrive. That is my personal favourite of the two.

A couple of choices on control knobs that I'll throw open to the vote. Note the bare metal pedal at the side was my first attempt.

Or very special bottle from my very favourite beer ever. Badger Champion, a modern day rival for Newquay Steam. It's certainly capable of giving you a fuzzy head in the morning.

The next build is a analogue delay with a pitchshift on the delayed signal. So it gives that harmony guitar sound with non of the digital sterility. I think theres only TC electronics and Eventide doing that at the moment.

You built a Coloursound fuzz pedal - from memory???!!!

Time to pack up and go home, Ceri. You're out of your depth here, my man.

BTW: the Badger control knobs are genius. And if you ever need sponsorship...

BTW (again): The Tantalizer - is actually a pretty excellent name for a pedal, isn't it? :D

Based on the sound old chap, the sound. Not the circuit.

Yeah suppose I better write to Hall and Woodhouse. See if I can't get a few crates of building fuel on the house.
2 bottles to each pedal. I'll be hammered by the last pedal of the day.
I can just see it now. Up at six, one bottle on my weetabix. Get the next one down my neck whilst in the shower. Start the first pedal of the day at 7:30.

Excellent beer though.
