Hi,

I bought a trmolo bar for my 93 japanese strat, but it is kind of hard to screw in.
after 2 turns it's pretty solid, but with 1 turn it's a little jittery on the bridge.
I'd like the bar to "fall" down when i'm not holding it - is this acheivable?

Also, the might be a little rust inside the bridge where the bar gets screwed... Any tips for getting it out or helping the bar screw easier?

How many turns should i screw in?

I know it's a lot of questions, so thanks for everyone who answers :)

Could the threads be crossed?

To clean inside you may be able to use some adaption of a baby's bottle cleaning brush, or a pipe cleaner.

Get hold of some plumbers tape, (a fine white plastic fibre tape no sticky) and wind it round the arm thread. As it screws in it will give you a different biting point. Experiment the amount to get desired angle.
