Just got this setup great guitar great action just wonderin about the Gr-30 cool synth sounds cool flute and horn sounds, but can this guitar be used with regular effects? Blues Drivers, Boss ME-20 which I own and have played thru already yet , I guess the Question is this a real Strat in yalls opinion or is it just geared for a synthesizer pedal board such as the gr-33, gr-30 etc?

CAN I CONSIDER THIS A REAL STRAT OR IS IT SETUP FOR GUITAR SYNTH PROCESSOR?

"Roland-Ready" means that this guitar has a built-in GK2A MIDI pickup allowing the player to use a GR700 synthesizer bank via the special 13-pin socket located on the lower bout. Likewise, it's a regular Stratocaster guitar with its 5-way switch and classic recessed jackplate for normal electric guitar playing. You can dial between the three single-coils and the GK2A or blend both guitar and synthesizer sounds simultaneously.

Back in the 1980s, Roland introduced their own Strat copies featuring the GK1 MIDI pickup, the G-505 and the twin humbucker G-202. Both guitars used a large 24-pin socket and require a special cable for the GR700 floor pedal. Eric Clapton used a similar guitar during the Behind The Sun era in 1985.

A three position mini-toggle switch selects between guitar only, synth only or a combination of both. Two push buttons allow you to send commands (like preset up or down) to the synth module.

The Roland Ready Strat has one guitar volume control, one no-load tone control for the neck and middle pickups, and a synth volume control.

Roland Ready Strats are only available in SSS and a rosewood neck option.

Everyone can easily drop a humbucker in the bridge position, use an HSS pickguard with the extra holes for the MIDI pickup & controls and put a maple neck in the place of rosewood.
