Sorry for a newbie question. Do all Squier strats have the big CBS era headboard? If not which model/year/ countries have the "regular " headboard?

Yea, the one's with smaller headstocks can be found. Classic Vibes, Bullets, Deluxes, etc.. Just look around a little, you'll see them out there.

I feel ya, man. I don't like the big head either. There are plenty out there without it though. You shouldn't have any problem finding one.
