Hi! I have a 2008 American Deluxe Strat and I got a serious problem. With the tremolo arm. It should be popped in and it has always been pretty tight but now when I put it in the hole it goes much easier, and doesn't stay in. I took off the bridge and found two screws. I tried to adjust them but it didn't help. Then theres some kind of spring and I guess the problem is with that but I dont know what to do with it. Please help!

It's all on them two grubscrews mate.

Bottom one tightens how easy/hard it is to put the arm in the block. The top one controls how much the arm swings.

Well... What's wrong with it. There used to be 'pop'-sound when the arm was placed, but now there ain't no pop.

Could be broke.

Theres a metal plate in there that one of the screws moves. Is that still there, is it working right.

I think you need to get the trem out of the guitar and take the block off the plate to further see whats going on.

Without putting a hand on it, it's incredibly hard to ascertain whats wrong with it.

OK. so I took the trem out of the guitar, and separated the block from the plate. I still believe that the problem is in that 'spring'.

Btw. I guess I'll be learning to set the intonation today...

Yeah but intonations easy. Fret flat forward (to the pickup) Fret sharp back, refrence 12th fret harmonic to the 12th fret fretted note.

Is the metal plate still in the block? Can you see down the trem arm hole (need lots of light)? Is the metal plate broken?
