I'm looking to buy a 57 reissue on ebay. Does anyone have an opinion on the V-Shaped neck.

There can be variations in the Vs on the necks,on some it may be more pronounced than others but others such as the Jimmie Vaughn Strat have a slighter less obvious V that's quite comfortable.I'm not too sure about the '57 V neck but I doubt that it would be uncomfortably shaped.

You really ought to try one before you buy one.

It does feel different and you may not like it!

I've got a '95 57AVRI and it has no V at all in the neck In fact it is more of a modern C shape. So I have to agree. Try before you buy unless neck shape is not important.

Okay. Thanks guys. I'm going to Guitar Center today and try different ones to see how they feel. On the Specs for the '57 Reissue it says the neck is V-shaped. Ya'll are right though, I should go try one before I spend 1,500 on one.
