So you'll drop over a grand on a guitar, but wont dish out the $20 to take it to a tech for a set up? I agree that learning to set up your own instrument is important, but if you are worried that you broke your truss rod or maxed it out, you need to take it to someone that knows what they are doing.
There is no shame in admitting defeat and turning it over to a person that does it for a living.

thanks let me know what happens when youtry for 0 to back bow type relief....maybe you have many more turns available than me?...as stated i play quite light, with low action and like a straight as possible neck....oh and i use 10's in case i didn't already mention it...and the microtilt is NOT engaged...just screwed enought to touch and not rattle or whatever...oh and my action on the 17th fret is just under 1.45 mm.

Back.

Getting 3.5 full turns in each direction from what i took to be center. Then like you found, it's requiring too much force for me to be comfortable to continue.

Basically I found the slack area. Roughed out the middle of that slack area, then went from there.

back off the nut and add a washer or two . you really shouldnt need to tighten the neck that tight.
