Post subject: Pick-up question

Is a Pick-up that gives no reading on the multimeter lost for goog or can pick-ups be fixed.
I changed both the wires on the pick up but it still reads nothing.
any tips or tricks???

They can be fixed, but it is very delicate work.

If the pickup gives no resistance reading it is entirely possible that the wire coil has broken. Whether that be on the flatwork or in the wrap around the bobbin, you'd have to find out for yourself.
It could at a very very longshot be that the polepieces have lost all magnetism. Not at all likely though.

One thing, it's something you don't want to do yourself if you have no previous experience of it.

Like Niki said its most likely the wire has come adrift of the windings themselves and if the covering can be carefully removed it may be able to be resoldered. If its internal, then unless you fancy rewinding yer own its the bin im afraid.

Not much to lose by having a look.

One thing tho the magnet becoming demagnetised will not affect any winding reading by a multimeter. That would just give a very weak output, permanent magnets should be are just that, permanent.
