Does anyone have or have ever owned a Made In Korea Strat, I found one on ebay that I really like, I would mind having an ash-bodied strat with 22 frets. I want opinions good, bad, all will be appreciated.

heres the link to check it out

Looks like a well looked after, genuine lite ash strat to me.

The logo looks identical to them guitars, they were different.

Apparently a very good guitar all told.

Hi Jonnyboy86

I have the koa veneer basswood bodied strat , ash bodied Korean strats should be good, comes with Duncan pups.

General quality seems pretty good, set up can vary but that applies to many guitars.

Had one, liked it, but like most Korean guitars, crappy pots and switch. Beautiful neck, but lots of glossy clear coat. I think CORT made them for Fender

If I recall correctly, V neck and brass or bronze trem block. I just could not get used to the neck and sold it (my problem and not the guitar's)

Sometimes you can find these on ebay pretty cheap because sellers don't really know what they are and just list them as Korean strats with low BUY IT NOW prices

I think I gave $300 for mine with a hardshell case about a year ago

Unless you are in love with the V neck or something, you could probably find used MIA for same price range or a nice MIM Powerhouse or something

So.... I bought it. I couldn't help it. I've been wanting an Ash guitar with a natural finish and maple fretboard for a while now, and last night I just gave in, so within the next few days I'll have it and I'll be sure to post pics of it. I remember playing a guitar a few years ago very similar to this guitar. It could've been the same kind of Strat. I thought it looked awesome, its just got that "raw" look to it, but at the time at hadn't come to my senses guitar wise, and I had very bad taste in music. I was a metal head, now I listen to mainly southern rock/ blues/ Clapton/ Hendrix/ Mayer/ SRV...you get the idea, it took me a long time to realize speed isnt everything...lol. And I've become obsessed with Strats.

Good. It's plenty of guitar for the price.

I have the sister model, the Lite Ash Telecaster in the same natural finish. Included are a birdseye maple neck and abalone dot markers: features that normally are found on much more expensive instruments. Mine is amazingly well put together for the price-point. Good fretwork, a nicely shaped "classic" Tele neck with a very comfortable satin finish and a well cut nut. Discontinued at the beginning of 2009.

I've occasionally heard of people switching out the pickups but most seem to get on well with the stock Seymour Duncan ones. Give them a good chance: I certainly like mine.

MIK Lite Ashes are not thin on the ground but it was a particularly good model. My advice: keep it stock, look after it and it'll easily hold its value and give you plenty of playing satisfaction.

Enjoy! - C

I do plan on doing a few mods to it, if I like to Seymour pups (which I'm sure I will) I'm gonna put white pickup covers on them, along with white volume and tone knobs, I've also got a 3 ply black pickguard that I'm gonna throw on there as well, the 3 ply just looks better to me than the single. Maybe in the future I'll add some locking tuners, but that kinda depends, the tuners on my American Special are fine, they seem to hold up well as far as staying in tune, but then again I dont really use the tremolo very often.

I do keep all of the stock parts carefully wrapped in storage just in case I'm ever forced to sell my gutiars. But I'll never sell my strats by choice. I love them dearly...lol.
