Hey Martian

You got the photobucket thing worked out. About time!

I always thought it was devised by venusians.

I think 'original superior wiring options' should be the new end of headstock decal.

The original is still the best of the big four, in my book. No bridge tone, reverse polarity middle, 3 selector switch, goodness.

Bah I'm a old fudyduddy set in my ways, so it would seem.

Do the wiring mate, make it all you can.

You like I have probably had your fill of this switch does this, this one does that.
My biggest regret is that my no1 is a gizmotron'd beast and has lost it's plain beauty.
The worst is that I can't change it back. The pickups I so loved are long gone, given to a friend.

I look now and the guitars I enjoy the most are simple plain strat affairs, but thats just me.
Do what works for you, you got the braincells to know it and do it.

A neck should be arriving shortly.
I'll carve the nut to suit once I know what it is.

Happy to see you smiling mate.

I'm giving a lot of thought to the wiring. Some aspects are "in stone" but others, well I'm still going back and forth. You are absolutely correct with the whole, "this switch does this, this one does that" thing. Besides, like I've said to many people over the years, you may have 50 options but most people usually zero in on and only use 3.

I'm really excited now!

True. A friend has this Moog guitar with 8000 switches on it, it's overwhelming. And it just sounds so bland. I mean you can do a million things with it, like sustain alteration and stuff, but it's just blah.

I love it!

Interesting, you mentioning the 3 way selector switch as I prefer it as well. Taking it a step further, a pair of them would allow for each and every combination of the pickups or that second switch could be used for three distinct tonal circuit options. One switch could be installed directly above the other on the pickguard; no routing of the body whatsoever, only a pickguard cut and still, simplicity of operation. Hmmm...

Well, it's bedtime for me, I'm going to have to sleep on this!

The little 'post it' note reads, "A gift from the guys on the Fender Forum."

I'm astonished and amazed! This is a brand new, Fender American Standard body, complete with the two point 'vintage' bridge and wang bar.

I readily admit it, I got choked up when I first laid eyes on it.

I've said this so much but it continues to need saying, THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of my heart!

The only parts withstanding now are the neck, nut and heads.

On a side note, I'm still contemplating original, superior wiring options. :)

Nice one gang!

This is a beautiful thing you've done here. :D

Group hug anyone?

Andy

WOW, that body is beautiful! There are some insanely generous people on here!

Also that idea of there being two three way selectors sounds genius. Very unique.

Well though I like the idea of two 3-way-switches I'm not entirely sure they're practical throughout a song... what about a traditional 3-way plus a 3-way toggle? That way you won't flip the wrong one by mistake when you're in a hurry, and it would still fit into the cavity... 8)

just my 2 pence! ;-)

Ah, but the function!

Having two different type switches (IMO) impedes the ergonomics of it all. Besides, with what I'm considering, it is highly improbable that the wrong one would be flipped. Notwithstanding, the Super Switch is still right up there in the running.

Why did I spend so much time worrying about Martian getting a trem?

I really ought to start paying attention.

Bloody fool I am.

I'm feeling pretty confident that a lot of thought is going into this before the first "etched in stone" decision or choice is made.

I'm also hoping that Martian doesn't feel rushed and takes his time
to build this the way he really wants it.
