Slightly. All the symptoms are less extreme but nonetheless, still quite there.

We can't have the worlds only ET on the ropes. Don't worry about getting the guitar finished till your well.

I'd rather see you healthy than this guitar finished. Though idealy I want to see both

+1 What Niki said Martian.
The guitar will still be there when you get better.
Get some rest. If it's the same thing I had, it's over and done with in about 4 days. Rather have you rested and not making any unnecessary mistakes with the Golden Gate Soldering Iron.

Rest,
-T

Niki and T,

As I said above, its all still there but slightly less. Actually, tomorrow will be the 4th day not counting the oncoming symptoms a few days prior so I'm really hoping. another day or two's time will be the end of it or at least, to where I can reasonably function in spite of it. Believe me, I'm as anxious to get this done as ever but I also am aware of my limitations.

On a side note, I'm really amazed at what a hit my Medieval Soldering Iron has become. Like I said, I'll try the gun on the claw first but if that gives me any resistance, well, out it comes! Once, I lied the beast down on one of those thick, early 1960s glass ash trays presuming it would be alright there while it cooled down. Within 10 seconds, the ash tray exploded! Now, I suspend it over a beam to allow it to cool, believe it or not. Wild, isn't it?

Ditto! If it's viral, antibiotics are useless. Rest, fluids, meds for fever.
Chill out totally.

Doc,

Fortunately, I haven't had any fevers and to the extent possible, I've been trying to do the least amount of anything. The only problem with the fluids is that I've been getting rid of them faster than I can replenish them (if you catch my drift). Frankly, I think this is worse than all the rest of the head, throat and chest misery. Yet, I know it must be done. On the up side, today I've finally started retaining them a lot better so I'm hopeful.

As a matter of fact, I'm going to go hit the sack immediately if not sooner.

A perfect description if ever there was one. I'm sure Ceri will happily grace this thread with a picture of a medieval dagger. The resemblance between the two items will become quite apparent.

Whoever was silly enough to think a dagger to be a cutting tool? It's a bludgeoning implement with a crude point on the end and nothing more, in the days of yore. Despite what google images says.

In a word, 'yes' to your question.

Please feel free to ask questions whenever and wherever!

You're more than welcome, and as everyone has said, concentrate on getting better before you work on the guitar, viruses are nasty things! :)

Thanks, I will probably have plenty more questions! There's such a wealth of information and knowledge here with everybody it's an excellent place for guitar related questions!

All the best,
Drew :)

If I get some free time this weekend I'll see about sorting out a thread on the Super Switch. Might be able to sort something out for Tired guitarist too.

Cheers!

You're too kind! Since coming on here I've already learned so much, even better gained the confidence to have a go myself, might even put up a build thread of my own! :?

Looking forward to it 8)

Cheers,

Hope you're feeling a little better this weekend. I feel like a junky and need a fix of Martian-ography.

Greetings All,

Thank you all once again for all your well wishes!

Sorry I haven't checked in sooner but I decided I had to shake this virus at least to the point of where I could function and in an effort to do same, took myself out of commission all day yesterday and last night. I am SO relieved to report that it worked! Yea, its still with me to a degree but I can handle it now.

As a result of this virus (which I hope I NEVER have the likes of again), I got pretty backed up with work. This morning I got up and within about a half hour or so, I actually felt my strength back. So, I began to blow out the backlog. I have everything under control again and just finished about an hour ago. Now, I am just mighty tired from being at it for 12 straight hours. (Hank, your guitar is now a masterpiece if I do say so myself!)

I'm not sure of the time but sometime tomorrow, we FINISH the, "Fratocaster"!!!

Now, I'm just going to take it easy for the rest of the evening.

Man, it feels great to feel even reasonably 'normal' again!!!

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Martian! Viruses are nasty creatures... in these cases I always admire the immune system, it's truly a cool piece of kit we carry around. Wouldn't want to live without it! ;-)

Don't over-do it, now, those viruses sometimes come back for a re-play! Take your time, get well well.

cheers mate.

Good new all around. After the holidays, and the year turns the corner, I'll be in touch with you about getting out there for lunch and first hand look!

Doc
