That is why I use wiring diagrams! LOL!!! Having dyslexia, like I do, i get stuff all backwards...and have to check and double check what I am doing.....

The biggest difference with the SS is, every tab is specific for each position. There is no automatic say, position 2 or 4 like that of a 'normal' 5 way. Each click has its own isolated terminal where you have to manually configure it to another terminal as you want stuff to work together. Again, once one understands the mechanism of the switch, it is very simple. The trick is, do NOT try to compare this to any other switch as this would make it inherently confusing.

Thanks again, Mike.

Yes, I'm pretty well trashed and shall rest forthwith.

Nice to see a neck coming on to that body, Martian. And great tips with the shims!

Well, even on Mars someone has to be the trend setter!

Yes, we're getting there and I thank you for your compliment!

Thanks, Mike. That's a lot of years experience you're seeing there.

No doubt in my mind whatsoever and keep up the great work! 8)

Cracking job Martian!

Some seriously neat and tidy wiring there. Man, that Jensen Cap is a beast! That gets the Big Hairy seal of approval. :D

Did you slip a piece of black flex over the cap tail for the jumper wire on the 5 way? If so, Nice! Looks good.

Here's the trick: Learn the mechanics of the switch first. If that fails, I'll lend you my Medieval Soldering Iron so to melt the entire switch into a molten pile of slop.

Although I'd love to see that, I'm sure you'll crack the Super Switch mate.

Hope this helps save an innocent switch from a sudden and dramatic death!

Right!

Gimmy a few days (v busy at the mo) and I reckon you'll be wiring that the switch up like a Martian.

BTW: Martian, I hope you feel better soon.... If it gets bad you can just "Phone home" right?

Andy

As I've said before...IMHO...makes a great eye chart. Just catching up on all of this. Hope this weekend to read this thread in detail. Last two weeks have had me occupied else where.

Andy,

Thank you!

I really must compliment you now. You have a phenomenal eye for detail! Believe it or not, that "black flex" is in fact, a piece of stripped insulation from the ground wire going across the pots, cut to size for the cap tail. I learned many years ago not to waste anything.

Niki, I'm rooting for you on what Andy said!

Andy, thank you. This virus is really doing a number on me. So much so that I can't do any work on any guitar today/tonight. I really wish it was as easy as 'phoning home'. FWIW, I don't get sick a whole lot but when I do, I do.
