Hello there...I was wondering if anyone knows why the Buddy Guy USA signature Strat has suddenly vanished from the fold??
Thanks, Mike

Could it be that Buddy's endorsing of PRS Guitars is the reason that his model is no longer listed? I think I saw him on their site not too long ago.

Hard to know what kind, if any, of endorsement deal has been entered into by him with PRS. Save for the PRS event, to my knowledge he's not been seen on stage or in print with anything other than Fender and, IMHO, from what I saw of the video of that event, he didn't appear too at home playing that guitar they gave him. What's waiting in the wings has something to do with the Blond Strat, more information of which you might find on my posts on the Eldred thread. Fender treats all its projects like covert operations thus details regarding the nature of the guitar and its release date have not been shared. I would suspect that they are doing either a replica or NOS version of the blond guitar.

A friend of mine just picked up a PRS 305. I didn't know anything about it so I went to their site and looked it up. And there I saw Buddy pictured playing one, http://prsguitars.com/305/index.php . Since I have always associated him with Fender I thought it was odd, but it appears that the 305 has Strat like specs..... so maybe he switched.

He participated in a PRS event was given a PRS guitar equipped with electronics comparable to what he's used to performing with. So far there is no reason to believe he has jumped ship, so to speak, not with this new venture coming and confirmed by Mike Eldred for next year.
