I'd either go with a black pickguard or leave it the way it is. Its a beautiful guitar and the olympic white finish will age nicely. Eventually your guitar could look light yellow and black. Way cool.

I have an arctic white finish with a maple fretboard on my MIM Strat and changed-out the parchment pickguard for black and left the parchment knobs.

Personally, I really like the black. It is such a great contrast and looks really cool. I love it. I'm surprised Fender doesn't make already make some out of the factory that way. It made my classic looking Strat take on a modern feel.

Take a look at Billy Corgan's Strat and see how you like it.

Enjoy and rock on! 8)

I could be wrong but I was under the impression that the new olympic white polycoated strats will not yellow like the old nitro finishes.

I agree.

Mine is white w/black pickguard, but I have a rosewood board. I think I might leave it white if I had maple. Also, the Classic Vibe strat in white has some sort of goldish looking pickguard that looks really cool with maple. You can check one out on musiciansfriend and see exactly what it looks like. Almost picked that one out for mine, but my bass player and the guy in Guitar Center both seemed to like the look of the black, and I was sorta on the fence so I went with their opinions. After all was said and done, I couldn't be happier with it.

Also, my brother has a MIA 96 Tele, and it has yellowed quite a bit. We put a black pickguard on it and it looks awesome too!

Yep, add me too.

If that Strat had a rosewood fretboard I'd say go for a minty guard, but with maple the white looks best IMO.

I was under the impression that the pick guard supplied with olympic white AS strats WAS parchment, not white! The one on mine was certainly a slightly off-white colour, not easy to notice in isolation, but immedialtely obvious when a white PG is held next to it.

I changed the PG on my olympic white / rosewood AS to mint green, it looks orders of magnitude better IMO.

And no, I'm not trying to copy the look of a stock 62RI / 62RI HR, I just much prefer the appearance.

I "um'd & er'd" about doing it for ages, holding the new green PG against the guitar and could'nt make my mind up one way or the other, but now it's on, everyone who has seen it thinks it looks much better!

Go for mint green!

As I said the Mint Green looks much better than the the parchment on my olmpic white / rosewood, but thinking about a bit more, your maple neck might change things slighty

Just yesterday I purchased a usa made Strat, olympic white w/white pickguard. I like the black edging around the p/g(3-ply w/b/w). I'd leave it as is. Looks great! javascript:emoticon('')
