Just got this 09 LP Blue mexi strat in new cond and was surprised it has such a lightweight feel to it. It plays like my Chinese strat. I don't like the neck being so skinny....damn the whole guitar seems skinny and lightweight. But I luv the LP blue look, and want to keep it.
!st I will restring it with 9 Elixer poly webs, but what else can I do to give it more body? I am thinking the bridge needs blocked...maybe a bone nut would help. Maybe I should just give up, and sell it. What do you think? x/7

I guess I have to ask ... why did you buy it?
Just for the color?

The trem block won't do anything for the skinny neck and the lightweight feel to the body.

Sounds like you want a heavy ash bodied guitar with a baseball bat sized neck. You might have to go the Custom Shop route or put one together yourself with parts from Warmoth or USA Custom or other like guitar parts supplier. You can't add weight or neck girth to your guitar.

Stay away from 9's. String some 10's or 11's on it and see if the extra "fight" thicker strings give you help to make the guitar have a little more body to you.
