Ok so for my birthday im thinking of buying myself a fender stratocaster. So really just new to playing guitar always wanted a strat. Here one of my problems.I have big hands and have picked up many american strats and the 9.5 fretboard radius makes me fell cramped. The only guitar i have found that is perfect is the eric johnson strat. Now i have no problem buying a ej strat but i feel boxed in.It seems like its my only choice for a stratocaster guitar. Then sometimes i think that i should try the the yngwie malmsteen strat becouse it is scalloped. Will the scalloped fingerboard give me more comfort. And is the eric johnson strat the only one with a 12 fretboard radius?Really want a strat or a telecaster but this is the same thing with the fingerboard on the telecaster. thanks help please

I think the MIM Deluxe Players Strat has a 12-inch radius.

If your hands are too big look for a thicker neck, not flatter radius. The SRV might be right up your ally though, it has a thick neck and a 12" radius.

That is correct. The 60s' Classic Player is also a 12" redius. I'm sure there are others... just check the specs.

Look for a early 90's Jeff Beck strat. They had the thickest neck of any of Fender's guitars.

The Radius shouldn't have anything to do with it being cramped, but rather the nut width.

Yes, I agree with this. Maybe a Warmoth replacement with a wider neck would work? Just a thought.

Have you tried an Am. Dlx with the compounded radius? It has a 1 11/16" nut width and for me feels too big, I actually have a replacement neck from Musikraft on the way...

Consider the neck profiles AND fretboard.

Great info... I was surprised that the contemporary "C" was missing from the mix!
