have a new American Standard Strat - great guitar but the neckplate had a made in china sticker on it. Not too cool. What exactly on these 'american' guitars is made in china?

No Strats from any country have a "Made in China" sticker on the neckplate, not even the Chinese ones. No part of an American Strat is made in China. You should really post a picture to show what you mean. There are usually two stickers on the neckplate of Strats, one is a trash can with a line through it (don't throw away, recycle), and one is "CE" which means some European standard or something.

Seems just a Gibson/Forums guy trying to spit some dirt on fender´s name by proclaiming our forums to shame.

Considering his name -epiphonic - you're probably right.

Actually, Gibson's off-shore facilities are located in India. They make the Taj Mahal White "Bhopal" there.

I'm really surprised that Gibson allows people of such little intelligence onto their forums. Let alone let them go post on other forums, and clearly displaying their lack of smarts to the opposition.

If I was HenryJ, I'd stamp on that immediately. It really isn't doing the company profile a lot of good.
