You know, some people might think me bitter about Mr. Mayer.
I don't hate the guy...matter of fact, I know he's a talented musician and will make more money, win more awards and have more endorsements than I will ever have...

So why another model for John? He's had a CS model and a Continuum contest model... Does he really need a "limited to 500 world wide" model that he admits he's "Playing on a couple of songs", and is "just a guitar that would have wound up in a store if I (he) had not taken it..."?

As a BLK1 owner i am perhaps bias but every argument should have 2 sides...

I'd say it is worth it. Whatever you think of the man, he has an endoresement with Fender, is a massive name so represents a massive partnership for the company.

Fender have been mass producing his sunburst strat and olympic white for years now, these limited releases mearly offer something new to his still growing fan base.
It is also an instrument more in line with the guitar he is most commonly associated with playing.

I am more suprised it was a limited release and not just added as a colour option to the existing spec.
As much as we love them Fender are in the business of making money and this they hve obviously determined gives them the greatest return in both money and prestige.

Every limited release has sold out before it has been released so that must say something, not to mention some of the inflated resale prices on ebay.

Plus it plays and sounds better than my friends custom shop
