I am shopping for an unfinished shaped alderwood body. Have any of you used Allparts, Bestparts or Warmoth bodies. What are your opinions on these sources.

Thanks

Looks good, thanks. I just need to decide how I want it to end up.

Thanks Mike, there are more choices out there than I realized.

I had a nice bod from WD Music a few years ago. I'm told they make them themselves, they don't merely slap a logo on someone else's product. Certainly looked that way to my eye.

WD necks are very good too.

Cheers - C

PS I also recommend Dave's Insanity Sauce for bodies. Are you man enough...?

Thanks Ceri,

THATS IT!!! I just fell in love with the "metallic blue" finished body WD offers!

I have some of the Dave's sauce but have been warned about it's strength. I have never actually opened the bottle.

I think I will stick with the regular Tobasco from Avery Island Louisiana, made not to far from were I am.

Thanks again.

Ha! Can't beat Tabasco; and I also like the green jalapeno sauce they do. Mild but tasty. Very nice on tuna, for example.

However, where I am I can only get it in the tiny, tiny bottles. But I just visited the US and brought home three of the big jalapeno bottles in my suitcase. I was hoping to get searched at customs and have to explain that, but no... 8)

Cheers - C

I bought a WD hardtail body in Firemist Gold some years back and it is definitely at variance with the traditional Fender specs, especially visible through the horns which are too thick compared to either a MIJ/CIJ or MIM body. It's also one of the heaviest bodies I've bought, weighing in right at five pounds. The pickup routs are slightly enlarged as well, being more akin to the '70s prototype rather than the smaller '50s and '60's guitars.

Best of luck, HTH

Arjay

The 2 ounce bottles are standard size, you cannot get those in UK?

I bet they ship overseas. This stuff is globally prized and copied.

Ceri,

From their website:

Do you take international orders?

"Yes, we now ship to international destinations. We also ship to Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa and APO/FPO’s. If you’d rather order by phone, international customers may call 1-337-373-6133. Read more about international shipping."

Now you just need some: dry red beans (kidney beans)---soak them in water for about 8 hours and let them swell up and adsorb some moisture. Start them on a medium to slow boil until they get soft and creamy, add water as needed, but not too much. Add some lean pork sausage, a little garlic and salt, some of your favorite peppers (not too much) and let it all cook down good. Make yourself a big bowl of white rice. Pour your beans on top or on the side in a big plate. add some tobasco and your ready. Cold beer or iced tea is good (you guys don't drink cold stuff?)

Hi again oneal: first, apologies for turning your sensible thread in a totally unexpected direction! Second, thank you for your concern! :D

In fact, yes, I can get the 2 oz (57 ml) bottles of both "traditional" red and jalapeno green Tabasco very readily. That's a universal product - or at least anywhere people drink bloody marys!

And I can get the red Tabasco in big bottles too, just like you can.

What I can't seem to find in the supermarkets is big bottles of the mild green jalapeno Tabasco - and that's a shame cos I chuck the stuff around like ketchup! I especially love it on fish and also chicken. I can only get the tiny 2 oz bottles of that green sauce, and they don't last long.

In the States I find the 5 oz (148 ml) bottles of the green stuff easily available, and that is what I've dragged home across the Atlantic. Mind you, even in America I can't find really huge bottles of green Tabasco: I was once given red Tabasco in a quart sized bottle in a Mexican restuarant in NY - man, I was in heaven!

'Course: I have local makers of their own version of jalapeno sauce, which are fine, but I especially like the Tabasco version.

Interesting thing: I notice the Tabasco jalapeno sauce I just brought home is much brighter green than the one they sell in Europe. I suspect you are permitted some coloring E numbers that are forbidden over here...

So anyway: if anyone knows where to buy ten gallon bottles of this, I'll be eternally grateful! 8)

I prefer Warmoth bodies myself. They make Fender-licensed replacements so they tend to be dead on (measurments, etc.) with
the real thing; their fit and finish are, IMHO, impeccable. But I'm biased. :)

My Dave Murray spec'd Alder strat body:

OOoOooOOOooooooooh a prelude of things to come concerning that guitar. I really hope.

Thats one jaw dropping axe. It's the kind of body you drop other guitars whilst you look at it.

Cmon man get on with the Aces strat post. It's a bloody fantastic piece.
