In addition to a few too many Strats, I have a pair of Teles (Tele and Tele Thinline-like), an Agile Les Paul copy, a Washburn WI66-ProG, two Dreadnaught acoustics (Yamaha FG, Ibanez AW) and one Grand Auditorium acoustic (Parkwood).... I only need about a hundred new ones to complete my collection

I love superstrats, does that count me as a strat lover?

Telecasters are awesome guitars that complement my strats perfectly. My epiphone sg is also a sweet sounding guitar.

One Tele, five Les Pauls, one Jazz Bass, one Ibanez dreadnaught.

OTOH, nine Strats (one of those a 12-sting).

I should prolly start looking for a Jazzmaster. And a Duosonic. And a Ric. And a Mosrite......

Don't stop now... you were on a roll.

I have a strange problem... I want every strat I see... doesn't matter how cheap or how expensive... I am sick.

You're not alone, every time I think about maybe buying a new guitar, I always end up looking at strats! I'll probably have quite a few by the time I'm finished

In saying that though, I tried an Epiphone Les Paul (I forget what kind) and thought it was quite a nice change from the norm :)

Cheers,

I'm afraid there's only one approved therapy for a chronic condition such as yours, Strataholic......

A higher limit on your Mastercard!

I suffer a similar affliction. But I prefer to build my own.

A Gibson Les Paul is worth a close look. A great guitar and it looks like some of the others on the forum like them as well. Arjay, you have 5 LP's, I am quite jealous. There is got to be a good reason why a professional musician owns 5 Les Paul's. I picked up a Gibson LP Standard last year and it's turned out to be my favorite guitar. I do like my Strat, Tele and ES135, but the LP is at the top of my list. Ralfcaetano, the best thing is you get to go guitar shopping which is at least half the fun. Good hunting.

I'm a Jaguar guy, love them. Give it a shot, you can get a lot of different awesome tones as compared to a strat, and I find the offset guitars even more comfy than the strats.

Aw, you really need to give us a clue. Once you get past the Strat, I guess the world is your oyster.

Maybe a Toronado? Or do you want a name on the headstock that doesn't say Fender.

Without spending a fortune, here's a few from my collection that may intrigue..

Yamaha RGX A2 ~ a slice of the future, like a Parker lite. P/up selector switch is a little delicate, but the controls light up green/blue. Nice player, but still Strat shaped. Ultra light.

Epiphone Les Paul ~ upgrade it in installments. Mine is an "Extreme" finished entirely in black pearloid. With it's Tone Pro bridge and Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups, I'd have to think long and hard before exchanging it for a pukka Gibson. Like any Les Paul - a big change from the Strat mindset.

Super Strat? I have Ibanez and Charvel models ~ select a twin humbucker model to ring the changes from a Strat. Still S (strat) shaped though.

My current new toy is a Burns Batwing ~ a fine guitar, but almost certainly still too Strat like for you. Worth a look though.

PRS SE Soapbar II ~ a fantastic guitar and worlds away from a Strat. The whole SE range, especially the later ones, are well worth reviewing at length. Great way to explore P90 pickups as well.

I've suggested good quality budget instruments deliberately. You don't want to spend a fortune on a completely different style of guitar, then go scuttling back to your regular Strats if your experiment doesn't work out!

Good Luck!!
