Hello all,

Thought I'd treat myself to a new guitar for this Christmas, but wasn't sure what to get.

My current wish list is...

MIM Classic 60's Strat (I love to 60's neck!)
MIJ '62 Reissue Strat (If it's only slightly more expensive than MIM, why not?)
Classic Player Jaguar HH or MIJ SS (All those controls seem very interesting...)

and last but not least...

A decent acoustic guitar!

Of course, I can't get all four, so I'll have to decide on one.

But which one??????

Can someone weigh the pros and cons of each?

My current guitars are:
EC Signature Strat
Epiphone Les Paul Std.
LTD dual humbucker guitar
(not a single guitar with functional trem :( )

I would get a strat with a bar.... You already have a nice strat minus the bar......any of the ones you listed will do fine... I love my 09 US deluxe maple neck.... I use the bar alot and love it.... :)

I would say from the list you provided, the MIM 60's model, since you love the neck.

To me, buying a Guitar is like buying a new pair of shoes, it has to fit right and feel right to you, less it will sit in the corner and collect dust until you sell it buy something else.

When you go to audition a guitar, play it without and amp, electronics can always be changed to your liking, and dead playing guitar will always play dead, and one that doesn't feel right will never bond to you.

Look at my last guitar i bought (It is posted here all i have done) I ended up replacing the pick ups, tremolo and the changing it from a HSS to a SSS, but it plays great and has a great feel, so yes i spent more in the short run, but I have a guitar for life now.
And believe you me, guitar swapping to try and find the one will cost you big time in the long run.

I've been a strat man for the longest time, nothing else would do. I fiddled around on other peoples' acoustics, but never had my own. I just came home with one today. It sounds and plays fantastic. Its not the best looking guitar out there I'm sure but thus far its made a great first acoustic. I'd say go for the decent acoustic.

Get the new MIM Strat Blacktop with maple neck, dual buckers, and a sonic blue finish!!! At $499, looks like a steal to me.

Sonic blue or 3tsb, I've never seen one in shoreline gold.

I'd be inclined towards the '62 reissue as '62 was the first of the "L" series Strats that to me the best sounding and playing Strats ever made.
