I am TOTALLY psyched for this!

As you all would expect, I do have some Strat parts of my own on hand, surely not enough to build a complete Strat though. I'll definitely be using these and for the parts I didn't have, this is where so many of you generously came through.

The great news is, the parts pledges are for the most part, complete. I keep rebuilding a Strat piece by piece in my head, ensuring that I've left no parts unaccounted for and I do believe we're 99.9% covered. I'm just waiting for a couple of people to get back to me.

Once I have all the parts physically in front of me, that's when the final inventory and compatibility checks will be done. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, beyond this, that's when the fun starts!!

Again, I thank all of you who have contributed, be it parts, ideas, puns, best wishes and of course, thanks to Nutter for showing me how to do the pictures thing.

Everyone, please keep your suggestions coming as this project belongs to ALL of us!

Think about it: NO guitar ever made will have more genuine, international mojo than this one!!!

At the risk of being redundant, I am TOTALLY psyched for this!

We could do with getting a list together of parts pledged.

Nutter do you want to do the honours mate? After your sterling work on the build thread listing, I think you're the man for the job.

...just let me know. :)

I'll take you up on it as I've still got the OEM one connected on this pickguard.

Please shoot me an e-mail:

OK, pal. I have sent the email. Looking forward to seeing your build progress. :D

Ooo - what fun! Good work, men.

BTW: regarding a name for this guitar. Considering where it will be put together this is obviously the Ziggy Stardust Strat - right?

Cheers - C

I also have the output jack, string tree(s), knobs, strap locks and backplate (IF you guys feel the guitar should have a backplate???)

Ideally, for the tremolo, I'd like a two post, wide mount but if this is not possible, I'd then prefer the 6 point wide mount. Here again though, this is contingent on what the body is drilled out for.

Oh... I suspect that's do-able.

Well Ceri's nod towards Ziggy got me thinking. And you know, once your brain is in a loop you have to plough on till you've got something, so I had a little fiddle:

Obviously the last one is due to my recent revisit of old Star Trek episodes and not to be taken seriously. ;)

Anyway, I hope your eyes don't pop out in disgust of my feeble attempts. If they do, go see a doctor. Ahhh, you can't seeeeee then, can you. Hm. Well then I guss you're stuck! 8)

-Nutter

PS: Martian I'm not entirely sure you're into this whole "space"- theme, for all I know you could be wanting to name the Strat "Suzie" or "Bratwurst & Beer", so if you want to, maybe you could dial in some rough co-ordinates to help the ground crew in Houston get it right. ;-)

To tell the truth, I am into the Star Trek thing quite a bit but ONLY the original series.

I shall however, recuse myself from the naming the guitar AND as to whether it shall have a backplate or not. These matters shall be left up to all of you...

that's the one I was referring to - I agree, it is simply the best. Currently I'm re-watching series one, which is still awesomely made and very relaxing to watch. Do you know the pilote episode, Martian? I like the way the "crew" settle into their given roles after a couple of episodes... simply great television!

:)

EDIT: Workin on it, just found the right font of TOS. :)

Yes, I'm familiar with the pilot. I didn't like the way Spock was so officious in that and its morph, "The Menagerie". Yet, as you've stated, "simply great television." All in all though, I must say (and call me crazy but) my all time favorite TV show from the 1960s was and still is, "Monty Python's Flying Circus". ("Nudge, nudge, wink, wink; know what I mean?")

Here's a thought - maybe there's a decent body on the auction sites that some of us, who aren't supplying parts could donate towards?

Maybe something like this one?

http://cgi.ebay.com/STRATOCASTER-GUITAR ... 1c15a6ec1b

Give it some thought, and yeah, I'm in!
