I would hope so!! Martian has been nothing but helpful to many posters here and is considered by most knowledgeable members to be the forum's electrical/pickup Guru!! Top shelf man in my opinion.

thank you Xhefri. i seriously didnt mean what it sounded like. going back and rereading what i said can be taken two ways and as you know the worst way is usually how it will be taken.
so if martin too took it the wrong way and im sure he has i apologize
to him as well.
i'll take my whining elsewhere.

One of the worst things about the internet 'at large' is (and has been stated), context is totally interpretive where only the poster knows truly what (s)he really meant. Having said this, I surely have created a shining example of directly related ambiguity!

I profoundly apologize for causing such a literary 'scene' as all I meant to get across was my good fortune on being able to sell my Strat for a profit where I could pay some bills and the fact that I was given a PRS as a loaner. It was a thought totally secondary nature which made me realize that I'll be without a Strat for the first time in most of my life. I surely wasn't trying to be melodramatic about it.

Again, I apologize and at the same time, thank you all for your concerns, kind words and wonderful generosities.

I take it the guy who bought your guitar simply could not fully understand the complexity and sophistication of the advanced alien technology contained within and needed to use a more primitive control system. Ah humans, will they ever learn? ^^

Hi Martian!

Great deal man! You got to keep your loaded pickguard and you have a tasty PRS to play with in the mean time! 50 points to you! :D

Its so nice to see all the kind offers you've received for parts to house your very nicely loaded pickguard. Once again, I'm taken back by the kindness and respect forum users show for each other here. I second Mr Hopkins comments, your a top chap and I have no doubts that you'll be in possession of a strat one way or another very soon.

Anyway, hows the PRS working out for ya?

Cheers!

Andy

Absolutely.
Lets move on and forget previous disagreements.

Cmon Martian

Lets do this mate, you won't have to suffer that PRS for long?

It's just not right that a man should be strat'less. It goes against the grain of the universe.

I can't see you suffer like this. First time without a real guitar since 68?
It's a shame you're not in Europe, Brussels would have to do something about it. It's gotta be a contravention of the Geneva convention or something?

Doesn't it class as 'Cruel and unusual punishment'?

Martian...you're a cool guy, intelligent and have your priorities straight.
Your daughter is fortunate to have a father who thinks like you do.
I've said it before,a guitar is just a guitar...and at times the only outlet I've had when hangin' on to the knot in the end of the rope.
But as much as I would hate it,I would go Stratless for my sons.

as a matter of fact, they're getting them one by one already.

+1!!! A few years back my son and I had restored a 1935 Plymouth. My youngest daughter was having problems in the public school so we opted for a private Christian school, which she wanted to go too. Only problem was money! I sold the car in a heart beat and paid for her to go to school. So I can relate.....setting priorities. He did the right thing as far as I am concerned.....

Thank you ALL SO much!

I always considered myself merely a rank-in-file member here who knows some technical stuff of which, I'm always glad to share with you all. I never realized that I had a lot of fantastic friends here who actually are interested in what I have to say and play!

I'm humbled and so appreciative of so many kindnesses.

To tell the unvarnished truth, although it is clearly in the category of "high end" instruments, the subject PRS ain't no Strat which begs the question...

Shall we build one?

I will take those up on their offers for parts and such in order for us to proceed. If I can't get through to you via e-mail or you want to get a hold of me via same, my e-mail is:

haneng@ix.netcom.com

This shall be OUR OWN signature guitar; nothing fancy, yet a real working man's Strat, nicely tweaked.
