Ah.. I take it you won't need a Big Hairy wiring diagram then. :D

I was also going to offer one of my nuts as i have a spare, but I reckon you've probably already got a couple knocking around.

don't think so... but there's always this:

"Larks' tongues; wrens' livers; chaffinch brains ; jaguars' earlobes; wolf's nipple chips, get them while they're hot, they're lovely; dromedary pretzels, only half a dinar; Tuscany fried bats...."

Martian,I just found a set of Dimarzio brass saddles that fit a vintage Strat bridge,if you'd like to have them you're welcome to them, just shoot me an email dbelbin@yahoo.ca

Thank you!

The tremolo system is the only thing yet to be outright finalized so I won't know which one I'll be going with until everything is laid out. I am familiar with those saddles and they are quite massive with lots of sustain. Of course, I'll keep you posted and "on-standby" with your generous offer.

Andy,

Nah, the wiring is going to be simple, yet maximum functional. As a matter of fact, I'm doing a few changes to this loaded pickguard. Not the pickup combo mind you, just the quality, efficiency and versatility of all the electrical components. As a matter of fact, although I (with all modesty) have a total command of how to do it, I have never wired up any Strat like this before. Due to this unique occasion, I pondered this one a long time, considering it having to be not the most complicated but simply the best wiring a Strat could ever have and still, look 100% stock to the eye.

Yep, you surmised correctly, I have a couple of nuts in front of me right now.

"No, no he's not dead, he's he's just restin'!"

Quote...quote.....quote....I need to get back on track here. I've just committed all the detritus to the dust bin and I assume we will continue herein. At least the system will keep me posted. So whither hence? A lot of talk about parts. Not body parts I trust. There's an oral surgeon in NY presently doing time for a gig like that. :? Seems to me we're going to need a photo thread as an accompanyment once it's all under way.

A toast to your good Martian health with a glass of ice water in the Heinlein tradition, (Google 'Grok" for details) though I expect that a pint or two would do the mates on the other side better. Not withstanding the nature of the beverage, the concept, in the sense of how RH conceived it, fittingly describes what's transpired here. 8)

Doc

Today, I began receiving the parts:

From Bob B. in TX, I received a new Fender neck plate, cushion, screws, and pickguard screws. We all know nothing beats new for making a guitar's hardware shine at its best.

From Craig I. in CA, I received a new, Jensen .047uf paper in oil cap. You all are going to love how this shall be wired into the guitar's circuit.

Guaranteed, I'll be saying this probably a hundred more times but I mean it most profoundly each and every time:

Thank you!!!

You're absolutely right, I should (and will) start a new one, complete with pictures! Tomorrow, I'll fire up the camera, figure out the Photobucket thing and do some picture posting. I'll also try to come up with a catchy title for the new thread.
