My favorite MP bit is from the movie "The Life of Brian"
when Brian is caught painting anti-Roman graffiti on the fortress. He makes a mistake and they force him to 'write lines' so he ends up covering the whole fortress.

British TV, give me 'Allo 'Allo and Dr. Who any day. 'Allo 'Allo is one of the funniest shows ever.

Did someone mention “Slack Bladder”? Woof! :D

Oh yeah, best to put the back plate on if you have one, or Eric Johnson will crawl in there and steal your tone.

You mean Captain Slack Bladder? The one who answered the phone with the memorable words "Hello; the Somme Public Baths -- no running, shouting, or piddling in the shallow end...."?

There's a twisted irony here though: In spite of the fact that he fell in love with the guitar, he told me he couldn't stand the way it sounded because it didn't get him his 'Eddie' sounds. Rather, although it did have a nice 'snarl' to it when he wanted it, overall it was too 'bluesy sounding' for his '80s type stylings. I didn't even bother replying to this. How can one?

One cannot.

Every day for me is a day without a fender amp!

Me as well. But then, I prefer a Strat into an EL-84 amp.

I prefer a Strat and a row of ECC-83s and another row of EL-34s.

Which is just as well! :D

I'm assuming all the required parts for Martian's strat have been secured or pledged. I don't have any spare parts but I'm sure willing to contribute financially towards the project. I know several of you have my email address so contact me if needed. This forum is certainly a step above!!

"Truer words..." Twelvebar!

#1 all time, Dr. Who

But I'm also partial to the Hitchhikers Guide, Red Dwarf, The Young Ones, and Fawlty Towers as well. :)

You're not doing too poorly yourself, mate. But I'm thinking of hiring a part-time aide to monitor all the correspondence.

Man, I have had a hard time with Brit humor (no offense! After watching the YouTube clips). A friend from UK told me the Brit humor is slow, subtle and builds as it goes a long and Yanks humor is like right in your face, fast and to the point. Guess us Yanks are like that—instantaneous gratification!
