These tuners are like Sperzel's, but they cost $29.99. If they are good, they would be a steel. Guitar Fetish is a modders dream site.

I've been curious about that myself. I've used the EZ lock Wilkenson tuners that run around $25 at GFS and they are great. I like the look of the vintage Wilkenson tuners GFS now sells as well, but I have not tried them.

Hi tjnugent: I presume you mean these ones?

http://www.guitarfetish.com/Now-STAGGER ... p_514.html

I've used almost every brand and style of locking tuner - except that one. From the photo it looks to me as if the thumb wheel is a little on the thin side, which is the one significant way in which Schaller locking tuners score over Sperzels. The knurled Schaller thumb wheel is just that tiny bit more comfortable under the fingers than the other one. It's a tiny point though, hardly vital.

And I notice these Gotohs are staggered too, which is the other detail I find moderately noteworthy. I notice they don't mention the gear ratio on that page - but then so long as it's not too low that probably isn't a decider.

So I guess it comes down to whether you like that shape of tuner button or not!

If you try 'em, please let us know how they work out for you.

Good luck - C

I emailed GFS because I tried to order them last night and the reply email stated it would be 6 to 8 weeks before he gets another batch.

I asked about the gear ratio last week and the response was 14:1. Not great compared to its competition but not bad for the price either.

I've never used these either, but from the photos they look like the tuners Reverend is currently using on their guitars (and I believe they used to put those Wilkinson EZ-Lock tuners). If they are the same, I don't believe I've ever heard of any Reverend players complaining about them.
