I did it myself w the fender push btn, was an enduring task you need two sets of hands and the blueprints, so many wires and a super switch is required - and you need a fender .50 capacitor ( I had to buy 12 when I got the cap so if you need one down the road let me know I will mail it to you haha)

The guitar turns into a tone monster - 10 sounds vs the reg 5
So if your playing live and your set consists of one humbucker guitar need (les Paul) you can hit the switch and presto humbucker!

Everyone has a preference, just because you used premium parts doesn't me you had to like it. I look at it all as a learning experience. I bought a little 59 stacked humbucker for a tele thinking I wanted a thicker sound and I hated it... I no longer had a tele sound at all. I took it in the shorts on that one and sold it cheap.

This weekend I bought a 50's Squier Classic Vibe Strat with maple and it has Alinco III pickups in it and sounds very glassy. I am not sure what pickups to put in it to smooth out the sound. This may turn out to be a deal like what you just did... go with a recommendation, with a good reputation and not like it at all... We shall see... Oh.. and if you have any recommendations I am open to listen.

i know i'm just a little late but i'd suggest you put alnico ii pickups there
also a brass block imo doesn't make a strat sound like a strat

To each his own, but I have a MIM Strat with Rose pickups and a brass trem block in it. The brass block warmed up the sound, but didn't kill the "Straty Quack" at all IMHO.

BTW, I also put a Lil 59 in a Tele and hated it!
