American Deluxe Ash with Tobacco Burst finish. It took forever but I finally got it. The guitar is so much nicer than the picture. I could not seem to capture the finish but it is close.

Plays like a dream !

Very nice. i was going to be getting the same one but with a maple neck, but i couldnt justify the price. I would haave changed the pickups and i could do with the extra cash spent elsewhwere. Im getting a standard instead now, whic im still really looking forward to.

Love the colour, looks brilliant, i hope you get good use out of this guitar.

What a beauty! Ash has a lovely grain and the grain of yours is exceptional. The body appears to be one piece -is it?

I finally spotted where it is seamed, so it is at least two pieces.

Thanks for all the nice comments :D

I am thrilled to have a guitar that has perfect notes all over the neck. My Squier just couldn't pull that off.

Did you have to post this?? :D :D

I want a Cherry Burst (see my topic down the list).

This does nothing to ease the trigger finger......

Absolutely stunning 8)

PS: I have a friend holidaying in the US next week. I am led to believe that Standards and Deluxes are thin on the ground. Is this so, or is it just individual orders that are backlogged?

Fender made a cherryburst Deluxe HSS in 2001. This model has been discontinued in 2003.

Cherryburst Deluxes are only available in an SSS format since 2004.

I have the exact same guitar same color ash bodyw/rosewood fretboard bought it new last november. i absoutly love the guitar. bought new 65 deluxe reverb reissue amp at same time i bought the guitar. (i originally went to gc to buy a 70's reissue ash body strat) but, i am damn glad i ran across this one and, it was the only deluxe ash strat they had. i pulled it down and plugged into a drri and loved the sound /playability that, i bought both guitar and amp right there. I had mine under the light and, magifying glass and, i see no seams whatsoever tho. congratulations on your purchase. im very sure you will love yours as much as i love mine. only thing now is, mines due for string change. im still debating if i should stay with the 9's or run a set of 10's on it.....oh well....

You guys must have exceptional eyesight to see a join in the wood I just went all over the guitar with a magnifying glass and couldn't for the life of me see an interuption in the grain pattern that would indicate a join.Of course my eyesight is the poops anyway.

Mine finally arrived after a 6-month delay...but the gorillas that handle UPS packages damaged it. The box had an impression like someone dropped a forklift on it, and there was a big chunk taken out of the finish despite the guitar being in its case. Now I see why Fender chose to ship the guitar to my dealer via FedEx (the dealer shipped the guitar to me separately via UPS).

So now I'm waiting on a replacement. Let's hope it's not another 6 months.

I looked closely too and I can"t see one either,at least from the front view.I suppose if we saw a shot of the back of body we might see a seam better. But from the front it looks like a solid piece.Beauitiful piece either way....I'm envious.

To find the seam, look just above the upper left pickguard screw and you will see a short section of grain. Follow that to the left and you can see a couple more places that don't quite match up.

I never for once expected a one-piece body but must say I am thrilled to have it match up so nicely.

For the record, I had it set up with 10s before I ever picked it up.

Thanks again for all the nice compliments. This is my new baby and I am very proud.
