Here is a sound clip of my new American Special Stratocaster. It came with texas specials and the atomic humbucker. I did the setup and set the single coils to factory specs and the humbucker to 1/8th inch.

I played the same part and switched to each pickup combination starting with the humbucker bridge pickup.

1. bridge
2. bridge/middle
3. middle
4. middle/neck
5. neck

Feel free to let me know how you think it sounds, and which one you like better

I love this guitar...:)

You say you want a leader but you can't seem to make up your mind, well I think you better close it, and let me guide you........

I like the first the best. I guess the humbuckers do the job, eh?

What are you using to record it?

Number three for me. The middle pickup. It has that open, airy feel to it. Mind you they all sound great.

Actaully, I was just goofing around with those chords a long time ago, and thought to myself that it sounded like purple rain, about a year later purple rain came on tv, so I grabbed my guitar real quick and sure enough, the chords matched. That happens to me a lot. I guess I have a fairly good ear for certain things...:)

I ran the output from my digitech pedal into my zoom H4, and set the H4 up as an audio interface with my laptop via USB. I use Adobe Audition 3.0 as recording software.

I didn't know how old you were or if you'd know what I was talking about. Hehehehe. But I think I was in my teens when that song came out. Or maybe younger. But I used to be kind of a closet prince fan. Well, maybe not a closet fan, but I didn't announce it to everyone.

Anyways, thanks for the rundown. Did you pay for the adobe program? What is a zoom H4?

I didn't even know you could plug your instruments into those. I've seen those in the magazines though.
