Do you mean like this one here?

There were only made for a few years in the early 80's.
At the time, the prevailing theory held that heavy guitars had better sustain.
The neck and body were made from California black walnut and the skunk strip was maple.
There were quite heavy as I remember, and I didn't care for how they played at all.
They did look great.

Fender also made a Walnut version of the Elite Strat (with gold hardware) in 1983/84.

Those were the last production walnut Strats made; of course there may be some one-offs from the CS out there.

I love the finishes. I would like to get one. I don't know why they don't offer it these days, at least in n that color finish, if not the actual wood.

Anyone know how much they go for (strats or the precision basses in walnut)?

I have also seen some '70's Jazz basses in walnut but with maple necks. Maybe that was just the finish and not the wood?

I'd love a walnut Strat--a bit different tone, and a cool look.

The reason they stopped making them was they were ungodly heavy, that is they weighed more then a Les Paul, and like I said earlier, to me it played dead.

No sales, no longer made.

I have a walnut Strat and it isn't noticably heavier than an alder Strat and not near as heavy as my ash bodied Strat was. Both the body and neck are solid walnut.
