Hi all...
I've got a hankering to recreate a 64' or 65' strat...similar to the one pictured. Anyone know if the allparts strat necks have a skunk stripe? I've seen some with and some without. Specifically these models...

You do know that a REAL 1965 strat or reissue does NOT have a Skunk Stripe? with a Rosewood Fretboard there is no need for a skunk stripe as the truss rod is inserted from the front before the fretboard is laid in place. Strats had Skunk stripes from 1954-1959, when in '59 a two piece neck with Rosewood replaced the 1 piece maple neck with skunk stripe. from 59 until '71 there weren't any skunk stripes. Even maple models were then a 2 pc neck.

Yogi speaketh the truth.

In any case, Allparts does indeed offer a suitable neck for your purposes.

As well, for absolute historical authenticity you'll need a serial-numbered neck plate ("L" format), double-line Kluson repro tuners, and a set of "PATENT PENDING" bridge saddles from Crazy Parts.

Thanks...

Not sure how detailed it might end up being... I know that to be period correct it would not have the skunk stripe or the truss rod plug... the allparts SRO-FAT neck seem like it would fit the bill. Thanks for the heads up on the tuners and saddles.

It's those little details that distinguish a winner from an also-ran......

Most custom shop instruments aren't this anal.

But I refuse to compromise.
