The pickup with the yellow and black wires is reverse-wound/reverse polarity and should be used in the middle position. Not sure about the other two -- try measuring the DCR with a meter. The one with the higher reading belongs in the bridge.

Hi fenderastic,

This is mine, before I put the shielding and base plate on. Looks like yellow-bridge, red-middle, white-neck. This is from the factory, and all works fine. I get the noise canceling in the 2 and 4 positions. It does seem very unusual to have the yellow wire any where but the middle pickup.... :? I had not even noticed mine until you asked. Maybe someone else has some pics also?

Thank you all very much for your reply,
I did messure the pick-ups and the ones with the white and red wires read 6.6k and the one with the yellow wire 7.4k so this one is the stongest one and should be in the bridge position..?, but the yellow and black wire indicates that this one should be the reverse wound one and should be in the middle position?
The photo of Shimmilou' set up, is fairly the same as mine as indicates the wire lenghts of my set.
should I follow the mesurements or the wire indications, as Shimmilou' set up works perfectly,..
does anyone has a tip on which condensater I should use. 022uf-047uf or..
paper-oil, Sprague..I'am after vintage tones..

BTW: I think the set I bought is from 1996 if I am correct

The pu that measured highest (strongest) is definitely for the bridge. In the case of the Tex-Mex, the yellow is not reverse wound, the red one is reverse wound. It is just that we are used to seeing the yellow wire as the middle pu indicator on most Strats. I would use a 0.022 cap (standard). The 0.022 will give you a brighter tone, the 0.047 will give you a warmer tone. :)
