Hi
It's my first posing here.
I have a MIJ HRR 50s I bought inthe late 80's.
It's a basswood strat with dimarzio Humbucker and two Japanese Single coiled pickups and a Floyd Rose.
I think I want to renew and refresh it's sound, and put FAT 50s on her.
But she's an HSS guitar. Will getting an HSS pickguard and installing the pickups do? I seems as if there is enough room for the single. Does it matter that the body is routed for the larger Humbucker?

And also - Can I replace the floydrose with a regula fender bridge? The hole in the body for the bridge seems too large for a regular bridge, but the Floyd was ok when I was 15, now it's just a pain when tunning or stringin...

Putting a SSS pickguard on would be no problem.

A really good luthier might be able to replace a floyd rose with another bridge. A lot of work involved.

As said previously you can get a SSS pickguard and take care of the pickup issue. Regarding the bridge, you would be better off getting a new guitar.

If you were gonna use that floyd, actually all you need to do is get a SSS pickguard and your all set. You would probably have to shave alittle off near the bridge to fit around that floyd rose.

As far as replacing the floyd with, say, a fender bridge, that's when you'll have your work cut out for you.

Depending on how serious you are about this, I would say that the best option is to just buy a standard strat body (or whatever style body you want) from somewhere and transfer all your parts over to it, including that new bridge.

It might be worth it. It would be like a having a brand new guitar while keeping the feel of your old one. Sounds like a good way to kill two birds with one stone.

Thanks,
I pretty much firgured that myself, but I like the new strat body idea!
I have all the other parts and electronics... (except the bridge of course) And I can just get a USA strat alder body instead of the basswood!
But I will start with the pickups on the current body and we'll see from there...
