just changed from gauge 9-42 to 11-54 (MAtt Schofiled strings) And the bridge is angled quite a bit. Is it best to go from 3 strings to five springs? or to tighten up the screws where the springs are??

Bit worried about using adjustments on the trust rod.... do you think i will need to do anything there? how?

If you want a floating bridge I would go to 4 springs and adjust as required at the spring claw.

if you don't and wish to sit the bridge flush to the body of the guitar I would use all five and screw the spring claw in until the bridge is flush..

wow that is a leap from 9's to 11's...

haha yes it is a leep,

I have got 10's on my tele and I thought i would go up to 11's on the strat.... after having a quick play i really like them. Not as hard to play as i thought either which is great. So much more tone!!! love it!

Had to tweak the neck using the trust rod.... I still have just 3 springs though, its slightly more raised than factory is this a problem? I had to screw it in by quite a bit....

Rather than put so much strain on 3 springs you would be much better off using an extra spring or even 2.

Whenever you change string gauges, you will need to go through and set up the guitar.
The tremolo tension, the intonation and a neck adjustment as 11's will pull harder on the neck and the truss rod will need to counter it.

If you are not sure how to do all the adjustments, take the guitar to a Luthier and have it set up for you.

i did setup my guitar and got it perfect to my style. Intonation all good too.

With regards to putting more springs on I only got 3 springs when i got the guitar. I have another two springs from snother guitar but they are slightly different sizes...Would this matter?

The springs are about 2mm shorter but they still can grip on the back no problem.

Any help would be great... or i was looking at these

is it best off buying these?
