I just received an email from John at the Music Zoo regarding my order for a '57VHR.(A matter which I have addressed in previous posts since April when this effort began).
Apparently I have another 3-4 months wait on this run of guitars along with everyone else who has ordered a guitar in the American Vintage Series. Apparently we are low in the food chain with respect to priorities. I've sent to Consumer Affairs for details but that's my guess. :?

Doc

You and Mr C need to take a road trip out to Cali. Grab the bits you want, get the Blue Badger to spray em for you.

Sorry mate I'd have cancelled my order and bought used by now.

What could be going on with the paint out there?

An interesting question mate. However, I'd blame this one on 'squeeky wheel syndrome' a phenomenon clearly reflected in what the interested consumer is likely to find on the walls in the box store venues, i.e. mid-high 3 figure guitars, with not much variety on the 'out of the reach of the headbangers hangers.' Kinda what I saw on my saunter through Sam Ash's Melville store, whilst the wife was doing her thing at Lord and Taylor. 8)

AH so you resort to my tactic of dealing with the spouses shopping trips. Head off to the nearest record or guitar shop and leave em to it.

Just Saturday I found these quite locally.

The tone gets a lot better a couple of minutes in.

Very John and George for the princely sum of £280.
Gotta tell you mate, I was very very suprised at the quality of the thing. Fretwork like a customshop guitar, hollow bodied, set neck, for the price of a Squier. I even bought a slide in the shop just so I could try the thing out at slide. I wasn't dissapointed.
Desperately selling old pedals on ebay now to fund a upcoming purchase.

They say that good things come to those who wait. :?:

Hope that you get a good answer back from CR!

Who knows. The way time is ticking away, that Buddy Guy blond guitar the CS was looking at in Chicago may come on line. Then I can change MY mind.

It came in today and.....in a nutshell....the response was....."high demand".
They suggested that my dealer contact their internal marketing person at Fender to see if a more precise date might be ascertained.
See! Politically correct.

Not a answer I would have been happy with mate. Atleast you got some response though.
Were fast heading towards six months for this guitar to land.
