Hey peeps,

Today I played a 1993 Sunburst Strat Plus in near mint condition. I was blown away with the tone and playability of the guitar. The guy is selling it for $800 with the hard case. Does that sound about right? While looking at it I noticed what seemed to be 3 silver lace sensors in it. I could be mistaken, but was there a PUP configuration option for silvers instead of golds? He also brought out a 70's Guild D-35 that could use a little TLC. It has a seam split on the top but it hasn't separated. I think a little humidity would help it out greatly. He would sell that for $300. Should I pull the trigger on both and make an offer for $1000, or should I just buy the Strat and call it a day? The Guild sounded sweet, but was a little dusty and could use a neck tweak. AHHHHH! Gear lust!

Aaron

I have never seen a stock Plus with 3 Slivers. Sometimes the lettering can be rubbed and it can make them look like silver when indeed they are Gold. In 1989 to 1990 the DX Plus came with two silvers and a blue in the bridge. If the Plus is in mint condition $800 is fair but not a super deal. Right now you can pick up some Plus' that are pretty clean for between $650 to $750, but then you have shipping. I have no idea of the value of the guild D35 but I have seen older ones go for around $750 in really good condition. The Plus is a great guitar and it you want to learn more, visit my website. http://xhefriguitars.com/page2.html

yeah I have a few gold LS that look silver.

I paid $650 for my last one, and I'm looking at this one for $700.

Just wish they didn't add the string tree.

Jason, when they add a string tree I turn and run, as it significantly lowers the value of the guitar. Really crazy people do this. They just don;t think it looks like a Strat without a string tree! LOL! Interesting color....

Here's the one I was talking about. I'm not the Aaron that posted the add btw. Just a coincidence.

The guitar you're talking about has 2 Gold Lace Sensors in the neck and the bridge and a DiMarzio ToneZone "rail" humbucking pickup in the bridge.

The Custom Shop 35th Anniversary model of 1989 has three Silvers and an Eric Clapton mid-boost circuit with a preset/bypass mini toggle switch. This guitar served as a basis for the Strat Ultra of 1990.
