So I walked into sam ash to buy a pot and inputs to make a volume box (box turned out really well, I used a toy car as the housing) and saw this silverburst HSS strat. Man its so pretty I put it on layaway and only owe about 320 bucks now. Couldn't find any other retailer for this specific color, and they charged $1149 as opposed to the normal $999. If any of you guys see one pick it up cause it is very hot and plays excellent!

I saw that one!! I feel in love with the color! But....what stopped me.....I-M-H-O.....I feel that this axe would look MORE smoking with the larger late 60's headstock. I'd hate to buy the dang thing and have to sink another $2-300 bucks for a neck!! The guitar ia already OVER $1000!!
Oh well...............

I don't think Fender will make a Highway 1 or an American Special version of the silverburst HSS Strat.

If you're so excited to see the silverburst HSS with a large headstock, you can replace the original American Standard neck with a Highway 1 neck. You'll lose the gloss on the fretboard and the front side of the headstock.

This guitar feels better with a matching pickguard.

YES! thats the one I put on layaway. Can't wait to pick it up it seems almost no one sells these and that makes me even happier. Not a fan of the big headstock so its a win win for me. The satin neck is really nice...it will age with time.

I will probably invest in the fender brushed locking tuners to compliment the silver paint
