Yeah, Ebay has it's potential problems. I've never had a problem, but I've heard of others who have. Another option is craigslist. There you can find local used axes that you can go try before you buy.

yeah, right now i'm kicking myself for buying an amp off of ebay!!!!

You can probably pick up a Classic Players 60 strat for around $600 now. The Guitar Center by me had several for $520 + $40 for the gig bag and taxes. Definitely try it out - it's custom shop designed, has FANTASTIC 69
pickups signed off by Abigail Ybarra, 5 way switch, very nice neck and "vintage" parts. Do check them out careful - the G string tends to buzz alot. Play this thru the Blues Jr. ( NOS Tweed ) ....sounds great !!!!!!

I'm not a real experienced player, but I have looked around for quite awhile. After playing several, I chose a Honey Blonde Highway One. It fit me great and was the most comfortable of all the guitars I tried. I walked out of there with the guitar and Roland Micro-cube for under 750.
I just bought the same thing, and I'm really enjoying it. If you don't mind me asking, is yours the maple or the rosewood fingerboard? Reason why is that mine is the maple, and I've noticed it doesn't have an actual fingerboard. The frets are set directly into the neck. So I'm just wondering if they're all like that.

Otherwise, enjoy. I'm loving mine.

No man, maple necks don't have a laminated fingerboard. Just a hard maple neck.

Hey guys im lookin for a Strat thats a good guitar. It has to be in the price range of 500-700 dollars. I went to a music store today and I loved the american standard Stratocaster. Is it possible to find a American Stratocaster around my price range?? What would you pick if you were me???

Thanks in adavance.

Check around at some of the stores for a left over 2007. Some places ran them on clearance, because the 2008's have a design change. I own 2 American Standard Strats and they are my favorites. My 2nd one I just purchased in December brand new on clearance for $675.00 with case. If you cant find one of those go for the Highway 1 Strat. It is in that approximate price range, American made, but has the faded finish instead of the gloss. Still a wonderful instrument.

Bought a Hwy 1 Honey Blonde / RW that was on close-out at G.C. few months ago $429 with Gig Bag. G.C. discontinued some colors by region of the Hwy 1 Strat & Tele. Check with your local store and ask your Sales Rep to do a search for one and have it transfered. It's a great guitar at its regular price but, if you can get one for the same as a MIM it's a no brainer!

If you buy an American Strat you won't be disappointed. I'm not talking crap in any way about the MIM's, they are decent for what they are, but they just aren't the same caliber instrument.

Of course it's all opinion and we guitarists have tons of them but I think the Squier Strats in general are better players than the Mexican ones. So go that route if you have to.

Anyway, instead of buying one because it's cheaper, save up some more coin and buy a US made guitar. You'll be more satisfied in the long term.

I've had my US made highway 1 a couple years and still love it to death. I haven't had any problems. A lot of people dis the finish but I haul mine around at least twice a week if not more and it still looks good, I'd say. Put a little Love Potion 9 on it from time to time. I'd recommend anyone wanting to buy made in the USA and can't afford to spend $1,200 to go ahead and get a highway 1.

Yep. Another vote for a Highway One. Get the one with the humbucker in the bridge position.
