I see that the 4th position on the selector switch of these is the neck and bridge pickups together. Is the rear tone control for the middle or bridge pickup on this model?

It is for the middle pickup. I have a CP50s. I rewired mine so the middle and bridge share the 2nd tone pot. Also, I missed having the middle and bridge position and rewired that also. They have a super switch in them so you can have various pickup configurations.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking the bridge and neck together might give me something of a quasi Tele type rhythm sound, but would like to have the tone control on the bridge, rather than middle.

It did give it a tele sound but that wasn't for me...on a strat. Tele's should sound like tele's and strats like strats IMHO. These are really nice guitars. If you are considering getting one you ought to check them out. They have a soft v neck. I don't know if that is a profile you like or not. The pups are 57/62s.

I think I will check one of these out, especially in the Shoreline Gold color, which I love! Having one of the Tele's sounds on a Strat really is a good thing for me as I don't have a Tele anymore and feel much more comfortable with a Strat anyway, and I also never use the neck/middle position, sticking mainly to the neck and bridge/middle for my sound. The only soft v neck I have played was a Clapton model, and if this is anything close to that, I think I will love it! I have never tried the 57/62 pickups, but hear a lot of good things about them. A friend has a 60's Classic Player, which is nice, but I don't really like the 12" radius neck profile or the rosewood board, but I think the pickups sound just fine. Are the 57/62 pickups about the same in output to the '69's in the 60's Classic Player or are they hotter?

If I remember, the Clapton has a soft v also...the cp50 is a 9.5 in radius neck so you'll like that. Mine is the 2tsb. I do like the shoreline gold.

I've never heard the cs69s but from what I've read, they are a bit hotter than the 57/62. I love the sounds you can get out them.
