I've been trying out Strats and Teles for the past couple years. Never found one that I liked. Something about the necks just bugged me. Turns out, the problem basically came down to how they were setup. For some dumb reason I just kept grabbing the bad ones. Not faulting Fender here ... I think someone at Guitar Center was just not paying attention.

Until this past summer; I played a MIM standard and it felt great. Then I tried an American Standard and fell in love. I ended up buying a used FMT American Deluxe and love it (despite a few parts I'd like to replace). However, I'd also love to get a new American Standard Deluxe as well.

I can see now why there are so many Fender players who are very passionate about their guitars ... I can't get enough of them right now either.

Ive gone from Telecaster to Stratocaster and lately onto an Ibanez RG but either way my strat is my favourite guitar! nice sound set up gorgeously :)
though I dont own a Fender Strat anymore as it was stolen but i have a Custom build with a really nice playing feel to it :)

Either way Strats fender or not are superb!

if you learn to play properly then you'll have no troubles with a strat :) I wa originally knocking the volume knob and turning it down but I play with my hand in the correct place now :)

H-H-S? (Humbucker, humbucker single?)

I think you meant to say H-S-S, but if not, I would love to see i picture of it.

I have a 2010 MIM that was a H-S-S, i just couldn't get the love I wanted from that there humbucker, so out it went in favor off three singles.
i have a Wolfgang, so i have the humbucker tone covered, and i think Strats were just made for good singles, but that's just me, if you love yours the way it is, then that is the way it should stay.

Oh, and welcome to the Asylum here.

Ps, please post a picture of two, sounds like a nice guitar you have there.

I just can't get over that Fender feel and Strats for me are top of the heap! I love that single coil sound and that killer midrange growl and chime you get from a Strat. When you hear one on the radio - there is no doubt what you are listening to.

Don't get me wrong, Gibson / Gibby-style guitars can be pretty sweet, but as years pass, I keep replacing those in my collection with Fender / Fender style axes. The first thing I always pick up at the music store is a Fender and most often a Stratocaster!
