You Sir are a most generous person.

My suprise package arrived today. I can't tell you how absolutely ecstatic I am. I'll sort out some soundclips as soon as I get the stereo out to mono lead sorted out.

For the rest of us. Mr X kindly sent me a Fender micro amp. The Twin one. Gotta say I'm more than impressed with the sound of the thing. One thing these amps are great for is being used as overdrive/distortion for a clean amp. get a stereo to mono lead, take the headphone out of the micro amp and send it to the input of your amp. I've done it a few times with those Marshall MS2 things that in all honesty, don't sound as good.

Please hold on for a soundclip.

Xhefri you sir are a saint.

Aint he great.

Certainly schmertainly Ripitup.

It sounds far better, brings through a lot more of the natural pickup sound!

Wow, Sir Xhefri??? LOL! The Mini-Twin I gave you is about 13-14 years old. I do not think Fender makes that particular model anymore, as the Mini-twins I see today are a copy of the tweed 57'. I had two of those and gave the other one to a close friend, right after i bought them. This was was used for some recording, annoy my wife late at night and more recently a ornament on my bookshelf in my office (in my house). I was thinking Nick might put it to good use as he seems to be a gadget geek like me! 8) So now I await for some sound clips use that!

Nick, that does really have twin speakers in it, by the way. One time I set that amp up in a sound booth and use a mike to record a lead solo on a blues recording. It was pretty cool and funky sounding. I even hooked my POD up too it a few times.... With a new battery they sound pretty good. Oh and one can use headphones!

My buddy took one of these out on a small fishing boat on the lake with his electric guitar early one morning. There was a thick fog that and he was playing while the other guy was fishing. Another boat came by while he was knocking out the melody to Popeye the Sailor Man. He got some dirty looks from the old farts in the other boat. Guess one just shouldn't do that at 6:30 am while fishing!

What I like about it is the leaning stand, so you can lay if down like those old Ampeg amps!

Early morning, lake, fog, fishing, guitar, now had his friend who was doing the fishing been a banjo player, I'm geussing the only other noise heard would have been oars splashing furiously until the boats suddenly hit the shoreline

It could have been worse.
It could have been the music from Deliverance coming at them through the mists on the river at 6am.
That would have woke me up and got me rowing pretty smartly.

"oh no, it's mountain men, and their amplified"

"squeal like a microphonic Dimarzio Super Distortion pickup boy".

Love this little amp. Got a audition tomorrow. I'm taking it for my distorted sound.

Andy

Seriously mate, make yourself a stereo to mono lead. Use it as a distortion

Monster sound.

Good quality leads are a must though, they can pick up a lot of noise.
