I have a '59 Thinskin and a regular '57 RI and the necks are very different,the '59 has the thickest neck of any Strat I own...and that includes the '62 HR.

The '57RI may have the '57V which is a "C" profile neck found on the Gilmour. The '59 you speak of is likely closer to the 'D' profile...a la SRV.

Exactly,The neck is what drew me to the 59.I have a SRV and really like the neck,but wanted a 9.5 radius fret board.Enter th 59.It has all that .The white blonde ash body ,slab board and the 50s customshop pickups were the icing on the cake.

I'm know shop in my country where they have one sunburst Fender HR '62;)
