I think it is a very nice guitar, i would have bought one but i didn't really like the blue colour.

I think i prefer the 50s version, but both are very nice playing guitars with great pickups.

I like the 50's more than the 60's due to the neck, but man, you really can't go wrong with either. The pups they put in both are really nice.

CS69 in the 60's
AVRI in the 50's

They're both great but I did not like the trem. That said there is nothing wrong with it, it's just the looks.

It sounds like a good Strat. If you don't know what a good strat sounds like, look elsewhere.

I'm seriously thinking about buying a Classic Players 60's Strat over an MIA. I've seen a few of them in Sonic blue going on a certain auction site for about £300. They have a great spec for the price but I'm not a fan of the CS69 pups. I have a spare set of Hot Noiseless that I would drop in.

Could be a dream Strat for me. :D

I'm a fan of big CBS headstocks... blame Blackmore and Hendrix for getting me hooked. But out of all regular Strats - sonic blue and rosewood neck, gives me real GAS...

I've always like the sound and feel of L series 60s Strats. The pickups aren't as bright as the 50s and have a much nicer quack than the trebley 50s pups. The low profile C shaped necks were the most comfortable to me anyway. If the 60s RI is faithful to these Strats it would be my choice.

They are fantastic guitars at a great price

The day I bought my later model Highway, it was down to a choice between that and the CP60. I had them both set up in the store and was there for an hour. I simply couldn't choose. In the end, I let myself be swayed by the "Made in USA" logo. Still not entirely sure I made the right decision. And the Highway was £100 more as well..

More experienced players than me have given them great reviews too.

I'd have since bought one by now, were it not for the US Fender Specials that are now on the market..

Love that shop! I was in there about a month ago, I think they have one.

Interestingly they also have a Custom shop team-built strat on the top shelf on the far right-hand side of the 'strat area', which is the same colour-scheme as the CP60s I like (sonic blue/mint green/rosewood), the neck is bird-eye and quite chunky. I think it may hae been there a while because it has the discontinued solid steel bridge-saddles. It's got two cs69s and a texas special in the bridge. Nice guitar I'm sure, though I'm not sure it's quite the value for money the cp60s is, although I don't think I have the level of experience and ability to judge that one! You might want to try it out though!

The only think I don't like about the cp60 is the awkward truss-rod access: in the heel of the neck rather than the headstock-end.

Please let me know what you think of the cp60 though!

The CP60 they've got on display has got a few over-sunken pickguard screws. If its a player i might see if i can knock them down a bit on the price.

The heel end truss rod nuts not a problem for me as i quite enjoy any oppotunity to dismatle my guitars :D

I'll keep an eye out for that CS Strat!

Cheers!

Andy
