Absolutely nothing about the SRV appeals to me.

But Fender sells a lot of them.

OTOH I see many parted out and sold by Ebay chop-shops.

I love the neck on this guitar. It has a 12" radius with tall frets. To my knowledge, the only one fender makes.

I loved the tone, and I loved the lefty tremolo. But the neck is way beefier than I'm used to. If it wasn't for that I'd probably try to save up for one because it's a really great sounding guitar.

I've played one of these and loved it. The upside down tremelo and oversized frets and strings take a bit of getting used to but the tone is amazing.

I must confess the first thing I knocked out just after picking it up was pride and joy  would like to get one myself at some point.

Joe.

The John Mayer has the jumbos, but is a 9.5.
Kenny wades also has the jumbos and the 12 radius board.

I have an early '92 and it's a great guitar. Everyone says that the necks are pretty big but I found the '62 Hot Rod necks bigger and the neck on my '78 is huge compared to it... but the SRV neck is bigger than the average Strat neck. No comment on the radius or frets, I don't care about that stuff. No comment on the upside down trem either, I don't use it and have it decked.

The pickups are quite nice, at 10 they have a nice crunch and while alot of people complain about that I think they just need to learn how to use the volume control... they clean up nicely when you turn the vol down. They also have lots of mids to them. The Texas Specials are polar opposites of CS69's.

As far as tone, the SRV is just amazing. I can't tell you how many times I've been playing with my band and half way through a solo think how great it sounds.

An excellent guitar. I personally dislike that SRV pick guard and neck finish is sticky on the post 2000 models. Not a big deal easy to remedy. I will probably trade my amstd for the SRV.
