Hi,
I have a vintage strat to which I've been firmly attached much of my life. I've always been curious as to who might have been the original owner back in 1958. Does anyone know if it's possible to track that info down, say by serial number, or . . .?
Thanks

Thanks.
A picture, well. . . maybe another day.
It's a 1958 Strat, I purchased in 1962 from Fife and Nichols in Hollywood.
I'm not telling how much I paid! It was pretty scratched up at that time, with severe buckle rash, and as a kid, I added a few more dings. I have never found anything else as enjoyable to play. The original case also has a lot of wear. Any ideas for protecting what's left of the tweed covering?

The best way to protect the tweed covering is to store the case in a room or closet with controlled humidity and buy another case for the guitar as there isn't anything available that I know of that can preserve the covering or protect it from wear and tear.It would be a pity to subject the OHSC to wear and tear at this stage and much better to retire it and get a new one. BTW there are companies that produce pretty good replicas of the original cases.
