8) Hi Guys.
Does the DB Boost in a Clapton Strat require that you set the pickups different from a standard strat with vintage pickups?
Thanks for your help,

The strength of the pickup magnets will determine the optimum height of the pickups, relative to the strings. A pre-amp will have no effect on this.

I recently picked up an '06 Deluxe Powerhouse Strat (aka "the poor man's EC model") so I'm experimenting with an active pre-amp guitar as well. According to the parts list, my pickups are American Standard Strat single-coils. They do sound pretty beefy with the boost rolled in.

Hey Thanks for the tip, I did not know about the powerhouse.

I should have state that my strat has the "Noiseless" pickups. I just finsihed all the adjustments and new strings and this baby is back to being the great guitar before it was setup wronge. The Tech did not follow Fender specs and that's all I had to do and it just like she used to be. I will now proceed to blow the windows out of my house.

Thanks for the help

LMFAO!!!

Rawk on, dood!

The Deluxe Powerhouse has only 12 dB of boost (unlike the EC's with 25 dB) but I'm given to understand it's only a question of relocating one wire on the mini-PC board beneath the pickguard.

It sounds pretty ballsy right now in stock trim through my '67 Dual Showman (prolly a good thing that both my neighbors are at work right now......)
