i checked my order, and pickups, the place i purchased.
dimarzio dp 223 bridge 36 th ann.
i actually got, dp 103 which is the neck....
the only reason i didnt send it back, its slightly weaker than the bridge, and sounds fantastic.
i am gonna replace the single coil pickup covers, to cream or black which were my original order.
they came as mint green.looks alright. still noticable.
tell me what you think.

change the pickup covers on your Texas Specials to match the cream color of your humbucker.

don't worry fellas, went out to the local gc and purchased
a black pg,
as for the covers I took some white ones I had laying around.
dropped them into a cup of coffee left them there for around
an hr, that did the trick.
I'll post new pics. It did make my guitar look a little like
a g&l.
 I totally cracked up when some it received
some negative feedback.

I thought it looked nothing like xefris pickup choices.

I thought there would be more comments.

Hi bluesstrattone, When I saw you chose to put this color on that body I was a bit surprised. Black Pearl or Dark Blue Pearl looks good on Pewter, Black, and maybe dark Blue, but not on Sunburst. With Sunburst, my choices would have been Vintage White, Vintage Pearl, Tortoise Shell, Black or maybe light Mint. I bet the pickups sound great! I had a 1996 50th Anniversary Lone Star Strat that was close to the same setup, using Fender Texas Special pickups in the neck and middle positions and SEYMOUR DUNCAN Pearly Gates humbucker in the bridge..

GOD much better choice with the black mate.... As Ben stiller proved, blue steel is not a good look.

actually columbiano. i actually took the spares to work, thinking i would prop against the window and let the sun age 'em.
then i remembered on a previous thread or somthing on relicing, using some sort of varnish and other stuff that i did not have on hand. i remembered someone mentioned coffee.
so i tried it. viola. instant cream pickup covers. i left them an hour. worked like a charm.

black perloid  , i dont know what i was thinking. it looked blue more than black. it actually made it louder than the pickups....
