anybody know of someone who is able to wire pickups for my sambora custom I am going to attempt to build. I'd like to get a pearloid pickguard and have the pickups wired to a boost button as well like the real sambora strat had. I am not adept at doing it myself so I figured I'd ask you knowledgeable fender fans.

You didn't say where you live so:

http://www.fender.com/support/service_centers/

Many service shops are independent guitar techs that are certified to work on Fender guitars and/or amps.

Or just learn to do it yourself. I did. Its not hard and its a lot cheaper. Buy this book:

Sure I know a couple of great guitar shops with techs that can do what you're looking for easily, even with their eyes closed. And they won't charge an arm and a leg. But it might not do you any good unless you live in the Mpls/St. Paul area.

Sorry I don't know any techs in New York, but google does! http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sour ... oEBU_QZwBn

I can't help with choosing a preamp, but I can tell you this advice to save some $$; buy it yourself and let the tech wire it. If you have the tech purchase the preamp, pickups, and pickguard he will tack some extra cost on top of materials just as any other business will do. Your best bet would be to find a tech that works in cunjunction with a guitar shop so you can buy all the parts there and he can help guide you through choices. Otherwise order the parts online and drop them off with the tech.

Good luck!
